Journey through Ireland's past with expert Museum guides as you explore everything from prehistoric gold and Viking treasures at Kildare Street to military history, design and innovation at Collins Barracks. At Turlough Park, step into the lives of people in Ireland between 1850 and 1950 through captivating stories and objects from rural life, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the fascinating world of natural history at the Dead Zoo Lab.


Enjoy a special evening at the National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street on Thursday, 27 August, with free late opening until 8pm. At 17:00, archaeologist and curator Sharon Weadick will reveal the story of the historic Howth Bells, exploring their connections to medieval Howth, the St Lawrence family and their journey into the Museum's collection. At 18:30, visitors can join a free Late Evening Discovery Tour highlighting some of Ireland's most iconic artefacts, including the ‘Tara’ Brooch, Broighter Hoard and Coggalbeg Lunula.


 The historic grounds of Collins Barracks come alive with the return of the Wider Than Pictures concert series from 25 to 30 August, featuring an exciting line-up of international artists. Tickets still available. 


Discover some of the National Museum of Ireland's most exciting temporary exhibitions before summer draws to a close. At Turlough Park, step back in time with Ready, Steady, Go! - Soapbox Dreams in 1950s Ireland, a new exhibition celebrating the excitement and ambition of Ireland's Soap Box Derby era. Don't miss your final chance to see The Murmur of Bees, a fascinating exploration of Ireland's native bees and beekeeping traditions, which closes in September.
