Experience a bespoke Slow-Looking tour at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks curated by Sheila Robinson, National Museum of Ireland Tour Guide.
Join us for a reflective and slow-looking tour of the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, where one of our expert guides, Sheila Robinson, shares her personal favourite stories and objects from the collection. Exploring how artefacts can spark memory, emotion, and connection, we invite you to experience history through storytelling that speaks to the heart as well as the mind.
I greatly enjoy giving 'Guide's Guide' tours of the Museum. I love storytelling and social history but very often the artefacts illicit amazing stories from our visitors and I learn as much from them as they exchange opinions and ideas about the people and times associated with these objects.

Discover bojagi, a traditional Korean wrapping cloth reimagined for modern, sustainable living as part of the Dublin by Dusk initiative. Rooted in centuries of cultural practice, bojagi was historically used to wrap and protect objects, symbolising care and good fortune. Today, it offers a reusable and environmentally conscious alternative to disposable packaging. This hands-on workshop introduces both the cultural heritage and contemporary applications of bojagi, guiding participants through a series of practical wrapping techniques using a variety of textiles.
